so i'm reading this science fiction short story about Earth beings meeting another intelligent race for the first time deep in outer space. Both races are very similar because they have undergone a chance parallel evolution.. they both look humanoid yet have very different ways of understanding their environment. This is all very well and good yet they both seem to be of the opinion that one vessel will have to be blown up as they cannot run the risk of harming their own race. So there they are sat in the middle of nowhere.. too scared to destroy each other because of what they may learn from each other... too scared to known what will happen if they don't.

I bet you're wondering what i'm on about.. but science fiction writers give us glimpses of a potential future.. a fanciful flight into the overwhelming nature of time has to offer. It seems like its gonna take an eon before we're ready to meet other civilised races.. we can't even handle the prospect of differing attitudes and practices on our own planet.

I'll keep reading hey. It may even have a happy ending!

This is my first post to the Isis Network. I welcome who ever stumbles over these ramblings. My name is Chris. I am a computer artist. I live in Cambridge. I think that is all you need to know. I'm not really sure where the Isis Network will take me but hey the rocky road must lead somewhere. So its a misty autumn morning in Cambridge.. i perged my bedroom last night and now feel like a dynamic man... damn I may even invest in a filo fax.. oh yeh.. the council tax took the last of my money..

Never mind.. this new found poverty could have led to immense boredom but instead I find myself strangely liberated. I have set up my dub hifi sound system (if you like reggae go to Pressure Sounds) and so now my living room is filled with the joyous cry of Jah h h h h .. I think you get the picture. Anyway its time for me to get on with some work.
